Aroma of the world

Everything in the world has its smell

And even the world itself has its smell, it is simply necessary to feel the smell.

Tastes differ and some people like to smell the definite aromas while others consider these smells to be awful. And this makes every smell unique and great.

The variety of smells

The investigation of the absolute sensitivity was usually contradictive and uncertain. When the odour threshold was determined the left nostril was more sensitive among left-handed people and the right one among right-handed people. But with the lapse of time some researchers discovered that the right nostril is more sensitive and it doesn't depend on whether the person is left-handed or right-handed. Investigations were also held by other people and they concluded that the activity and the dominance of the nostrils don't depend on the dominance of hands as nostrils change each other in their activity every 1.5-2 hours. And the right nostril is more sensitive at least among right-handed people.

Two hemispheres of the people's brain also take part in distinguishing the smells. So the patients with disorders of the right hemisphere distinguish smells worse than patients with disorders of the left hemisphere, and this fact may be the evidence of the domination of the right hemisphere in distinguishing the smells.

The left hemisphere needs much more time to analyse the smell and aroma of the object while the right hemisphere does it in a few seconds.

In fact there is no exact information on the domination of one of hemispheres and their role in the process of distinguishing smells.
